Journey to Self-Discovery

What Was Standing In My Way? by Ainee Cha Most of us, at some point in our lives, will have to face challenges and obstacles in which we ended up realising that we have somehow fallen into a place where we don’t belong; or perhaps found ourselves lost in the midst of our quest - our journey. Whether it’s that we are in the wrong relationship, or wrong job or with the wrong people around us. Whether it’s being in the wrong place, or wrong approach to life; or simply wrongdoing. At times, we pretend to believe things that we no longer believe; pretending to be who we are not; or pretending to be someone we were never meant to be. This moment of realization is no fun. It’s terrifying, it paralyses you with fears. At its worst, you may end up avoiding the whole truth and you succumbed to every situation that comes - you are lost! It’s not yourself, but the truth that no longer serves you. You’ll know it when your body, your heart, and your soul subtly tells you. All you know is ‘T...

Easter Chocolate Meditation  by Ainee Cha Mindfulness meditation is often seen as a sitting down practice. While that is true as a formal practice. However, we can always practice informal mindfulness such as mindful eating. Mindfulness is about being fully aware of our senses at the present moment, and we can do that when we eat - 'Mindful Eating'. Mindful eating is the best way to start your mindfulness practice. When you are fully indulging yourself and become totally consumed in your food or chocolate, you are allowing yourself to reconnect with your senses and be fully present in the moment. Today, I encourage you to join me to meditate while eating a chocolate. Give yourself permission to really savour your chocolates this Easter. Approach this exercise with an open mind and gentle curiosity. 1. Get an Easter chocolate egg or small piece of chocolate. 2. Take a few deep breaths and relax your body. 3. I am Enough by Ainee Cha To all the beautiful women around the world: It’s International Women’s Day today, and it is celebrated globally in honour of the remarkable contribution of women to our society. A day to commemorate the exciting role of women around the world… and that’s YOU! It’s with great joy and love that I share my thoughts with you on this day, to remind you that you are doing great; you are better than you think you are, you are more than enough, and most importantly you are loved. Now, take a deep breath and just notice how you feel today. As women, we will continuously put pressure upon ourselves with all the ‘I should’...do more, be quicker, be more efficient and neglect ourselves in the process. We often let the demands of others and the environment lead us and we forget to PAUSE… Take a deep breath with me...breathing in through your nose and breathing out through your mouth; releasing all our tension in your body, letting go of all th...

Mindfulness for Kids

Fun 'Mindfulness' Experiment for Kids A mother’s job can sometimes be daunting. As a mother, we try to do the right thing even if we are not sure what is the right thing. I believe there is no perfect way to be a good mother or father, each child is different in their own way, every circumstance is unique, every parent has their own challenges as we all have different skills and abilities. As parents we always want the best for our children. But what is the best? There are so many programs out there which are good for their development but how do we know what to choose or which is the best. I believe we have heard much about mindfulness and its benefits. Scientific research shows positive effects on mental health; it enhances a child's focus, improve their overall well-beings and social skills. They have better control of their emotions as it nourishes their thinking and they are more balance.  Mindfulness is one way to teach our young children how to deal with s...

A Mindful Approach to Relationships - Managing CONFLICT through Perceptual Positioning

As humans, when things make sense to us from one point of view, we continue to assume that there is nothing left to know and we sometimes lose the ability to view things from different perspectives...  I encourage you to open your heart and come from a place of abundance; allowing yourself to accept the differences from a standpoint of 'unconditional acceptance'. Managing CONFLICT through Perceptual Positioning by Ainee Cha Have you ever had the experience of a family member, a friend or another person being unable to see things from your point of view? Why what you’re saying doesn’t seem to be getting through to him or her? Have you ever found yourself amazed by someone’s irrational response to a situation and wondered what was happening in their head? It is as if they have clinched onto their own model of reality that it’s impossible for them to contemplate on your perspective. Have you ever been in a situation where someone told you something and you j...

A gratitude of love

Someone like you… by Ainee Cha Being with you over the last 20 years was most definitely a blast. We went through rainbows and sunshine, occasionally some weathered storm and rain.   I reckon that the thrilling adventure of our roller-coaster ride had not only brought us closer, but we emerged stronger and surpassed our blessings in many ways. When life brought us distress and turmoil, we held on to each other and made it through every storm and turbulence that was thrown to us. Today, on our 20 th anniversary, I must declare that I am by far the luckiest woman in the world because I have you. I want to say I am truly sorry for having taken you for granted. Nonetheless, you are the calm to my chaos, and the one who grounds me when I stray off the side road. You are the one who reminds me that everything will eventually work out to its best. You hold me close when I cry. Most of all, you didn’t give up on me. It’s this journey together that has made me realize the per...
